Moore, Mary Alice, Ned Beatty - The story of a hero, perhaps not a traditional hero, for one

LEFT FOR DEAD: ONE MAN'S WILL TO SURVIVE
- Inecom -
BRAND NEW DVD - An Ohio schoolteacher, born and raised in New Castle, Pennsylvania,
forms his own company, fights in some of deadliest battles of the Civil War, gets shot through
the face and left for dead at the Battle of Corinth, Mississippi. Recovers to build a successful
life, courageously overcoming lingering effects of the bullet still lodged in his head. Feature: 50
minutes. Plus "The Making of Left for Dead", a 25-minute documentary featuring interviews
with writers Michael Kraus and David M. Neville plus behind the scenes footage and outtakes.
"In making Left for Dead, we wanted to tell the heroic story of a young man's courage and
character," explained Mark Bussler, the director. "At an age where today's young men are still in
school, this man formed a military unit and fought in many of the bloodiest battles of the Civil
War". Battle sequences were recreated from Oscar Jackson's diary entries in his book, "The
Colonel's Diary". One powerful scene in the production occurs when Jackson describes in his
own words, "Looking for the dead on the battlefield was similar to hunting for strawberries in a
meadow." Vivid images like these are brought to life throughout the production. Another
powerful scene is one in which Jackson is nearly killed by a bullet in the face, which penetrates
well into his skull. In this scene Jackson is leading his troops forward, as he had already done
quite frequently. Suddenly, he is shot in the face by a small caliber weapon. Stunned, he drops
his weapon and stumbles backward. He puts his hands to his face attempting to hold back a
horrible gush of blood.. He falls to the ground, unconscious. Later, he is found by other soldiers
and tossed on a pile of dead bodies, giving rise to the film's title, "Left for Dead." - Publisher's List Price = $19.95 each - Our Price - $17.95

KILL - Inecom -
BRAND NEW DVD - Approx 80 Minutes - With fellow Harvard students, William F. Bartlett
joins the Union's 20th Massachusetts regiment. In the opening sequence, Confederates deal the
"Harvard Regiment" a blistering defeat at the Battle of Ball's Bluff. Scouting the Federal picket
line at Yorktown, Bartlett's left knee and lower leg are "Shot to Pieces" by Confederate gunfire.
In an especially accurate depiction, the surgeon amputates from the knee down. At home, gaining
a wooden leg, Bartlett recuperates with Agnes Pomeroy, a Massachusetts businessman's
daughter. Friendship blossoms into romance. A Confederate ball shatters Bartlett's wrist at Port
Hudson while buckshot penetrates his foot, requiring surgery. His regiment musters out on
September 1st, 1863. Despite Agnes imploring, "Don't go, you've done enough!" Bartlett rejoins
the Army continuing to fight saying, "It will be a bloody day. I believe I am prepared to die". At
the Battle of the Crater, another Confederate victory, Confederates capture Bartlett. He fights
starvation and disease in prison to stay alive for the woman he loves. This feature-length film

War united America. Less than one hundred years later, a bloody Civil War divided it. Most
